Optic Candelabra received two awards in the 2021 VIVID emerging designer competition. Optic was awarded best in show for object design and the Dulux colour award.

 

The Optic Candelabra was conceived as an experiment in the exploration of refraction. It was my desire to create a functional object that was able to harness light, bending it to create motion and intrigue within a static object. As the candle burns the candelabra’s form harnesses the phenomena of refraction and puts it into motion. The vibrant pigments symbolise the spectrum of colour visible during refection.
